Appearance Cockatoo Inca
An Inca cockatoo is a short-tailed parrot with a body length of about 35 cm and an average weight of about 425 g. Like the whole family, the Inca cockatoo has a crest on its head, but this species is especially beautiful, with a height of about 18 cm when raised. The crest has a bright color with red and yellow spots. The body is painted pale pink. Both Inca cockatoo sexes are painted the same. At the base of the beak is a red stripe. The beak is powerful, gray-pink. Paws are gray. In sexually mature males and females, the Inca cockatoo has a different color of the iris. In males it is dark brown, in females it is red-brown.
There are 2 subspecies of the Inca cockatoo, which differ in coloring elements and habitat.

Inca cockatoo inhabit the southern and western parts of Australia. The species suffers from loss of natural habitats, as well as from poaching. They live mainly in arid regions, in eucalyptus groves near water bodies. In addition, Inca cockatoo settle in the forests and visit agricultural land. Usually hold heights of up to 300 meters above sea level.
In the Inca cockatoo diet, seeds of various herbs, figs, pine cones, eucalyptus seeds, various roots, wild melon seeds, nuts and insect insects.
Often they can be found in packs with pink cockatoo and others, gather in packs of up to 50 individuals, eat both on trees and on the ground.

Inca Cockatoo Breeding
The Inca nesting cockatoo season lasts from August to December. Birds are monogamous, choose a pair for a long time. Usually nest in tree hollows at a height of up to 10 meters.
In Inca cockatoo masonry 2 - 4 eggs. Both parents incubate alternately for 25 days.
Inca cockatoo chicks leave the nest at the age of 8 weeks and stay for several months near the nest, where their parents feed them.
